I joined the faculty in the Fall of 1989. I came from Southern California, where I had been teaching part-time and completing a full-time post-doctoral position at an outpatient center treating sex offenders. I received my Ph.D. from Louisiana State University in 1988 where I majored in Adult Clinical Psychology and minored in Behavior Neurology.

I teach courses at the undergraduate level where I specialize in general psychology, counseling, personality, psychology of women, psychological assessment, psychological disorders, and clinical neuropsychology.

My academic interests include the profession of teaching, program assessment, the psycho-socio-biological factors effecting gender development, personality disorders, and clinical neuropsychology.

I have served the department and university in a number of ways including as advisor for the Psi Chi Honor Society chapter, member of Graduate Council, Director of the Center for Effective Teaching, Co-chair of the President's Commission on the Status of Women, Chair of the Sabbatical Committee, Chair of the Faculty Professional Development Committee, and Academic Affairs Fellow.  Additionally I serve on a variety of university committees.

Professionally, I am a member of the American Psychological Association, the Pennsylvania Psychological Association, and Division 2 (Society for the Teaching of Psychology) and Division 35 (Society for the Psychology of Women).  For Division 2, I  serve as a peer reviewer for Project Syllabus, a national web-based psychology syllabus resource.

In the community, I have served on the Tioga County Women's Coalition Board of Directors and maintain an active consulting practice.
