New Course: PSY 406/506 - The Amazing Brain: An Introduction to Clinical Neuropsychology (3).
Purpose and nature of course: This course will provide an introduction to the field of Clinical Neuropsychology including the study of the human brain and a variety of neurological disorders. Students will learn about major brain structures, systems, and the associated functions. We will explore a variety of disorders including but not limited to Alzheimer's Disease, Huntington's Chorea, Parkinson's Disease, Schizophrenia, epilepsy, memory damage, brain infections, strokes, etc. Students will also be introduced to typical neuropsychological assessment techniques. This course is particularly useful for pre-med, nursing, biology, and psychology students. Note: This course will be offered as an Honors elective.
