Proposal from Mathematics to delete MA 180: Programming for Mathematical
The programming element of this course was Fortran which is being dropped. The math elements are being incorporated into the new calculus sequence.
Proposal to change the number, title, and content of MA 104: Intermediate Algebra to MA 128: College Algebra
As currently constructed, MA 104 does not count as a remedial course, does not count toward any Math major, and does not count as GE credits. An obvious question, is why have a course that doesn't count toward anything. The proposed changes address this problem by changing the course content to a point where the Mathematics and Computer Information Sciences department is comfortable agreeing to give GE credit for completing the course.
