The following Course Change Proposal has been proposed by the Department of Business and Economics:

 

BUS 160 Small Business Management to BUS 260 Small Business Management

 

Purpose & Nature of the change:

The course number will change from BUS 160 to BUS 260. There is an increased student workload. More emphasis is placed on the theory of developing effective business plans and the application of these plans to real life situations. The course is tied to the Pennsylvania Rural Entrepreneurship through Action Learning Program (PA REAL)

 

Course description:

Introduces students to the REAL (Rural Entrepreneurship through Action Learning) Program, which aids in the development of a business plan. The course stresses the necessary knowledge unique to running and managing a small firm. It focuses on the business planning process and the characteristics important in running a successful business.
