The department of Social Work Anthropology, and Sociology recommends the following curricular changes:
#1 Curricular Action: Course Deletion
(1) Course to be deleted: SWK 260 -
(2) Course to be deleted: SWK 250 Social
#2 Curricular Action: New Course Request
Course: SWK 321 Child Welfare
Purpose and Nature of Course: To provide students with an introduction to the field of child welfare.
#3 Curricular Action: Course Change
Purpose and nature of change: The course SWK 200 no longer exists. Remove SWK 200 as a prerequisite for SWK 350 and SWK 351.
#4 Curricular Action: Course Change Report
Course: ANH 280 Anthropological Linguistics
Purpose and Nature of Change: Cross list ANH 280: Anthropological Linguistics with ENG 224: Introduction to Linguistics and Change catalog description for ANH 280.
#5 Curricular Action: Program Change Proposal
Program: Anthropology/Sociology major
Rationale for Change: This is a change in the degree requirements for the Anthropology/Sociology major to reflect our faculty's strengths in research methods. The addition of the research methods courses will give our graduates skills for the social science research job market.
List of changes:
Add SOC 307: Social Research I and SOC 308: Social Research II to required courses on the right side of the ER. Delete 3 credits of required social science/humanities courses at the 300/ 400 level.
