This is a bulletin from the Academic Affairs Committee concerning proposed curriculum actions. Within the next 10 days, please forward any comments or concerns to the AAC Chair, Helen Biblehimer, Elliott Hall 203, ext. 4521, hbiblehi@mnsfld.edu.

The department of Psychology has requested the following curricular changes:

#1 Action : Program Change: Phychology: Minor Option A

Rationale for change: To allow students more flexibility in selecting courses tailored to their individual academic and career interests. Since the 4 courses listed are offered only once a year, having a broader, more varied selection will make advising and scheduling of courses easier. We would also like to drop the more specialized course PSY 410 Industrial Organizational Psychology.

List all changes:

ADD these courses to Option A (currently there are 4 courses listed; with the changes there would be nine):

PSY 3311 Small Group;
PSY 3332 Psychology of Stress Management;
PSY 3355 Health Psychology;
PSY 4421 Death & Dying;
PSY 4422 Psychology of Women;
PSY 4440 Psychology and Law.

REMOVE this course:

PSY 4410 Industrial Organizational Psychology

#2 Action: Program Change: Minor in Psychology of Human Development

Rationale for change: To bring the minor in line with course deletion and bring core in line with other departmental minor

List all changes:
Delete PSY 323 - Cognitive and Moral development from list of courses - Course is no longer offered.
Delete PSY 430 - Theories of Personality from required (core) courses but retain course as elective
