This is a bulletin from the Academic Affairs Committee concerning proposed curriculum actions. Within the next 10 days, please forward any comments or concerns to the AAC Chair, Helen Biblehimer, Elliott Hall 203, ext. 4521, hbiblehi@mnsfld.edu.

The Department of Chemistry and Physics has requested the following curricular change:

Action: Program Change: BSE Chemistry

Rationale for change:
Meeting the reduction in program credit hours mandated by the SSHE Board of Govenors. SSHE guidelines permit Professional programs to alter general education requirements to accommodate professional and accreditation requirements. Based on this guideline, the general education requirements have been adjusted to meet the allotted number of credit hours while maintaining alignment with Pennsylvania Department of Education and other accreditation requirements.

List all changes:
CHM 1111 is moved to major requirements, BI 3370 is moved to natural science block
HIS is no longer required in Humanities
ED 2205 is moved to the Social Sciences block
PHY 2211 is moved to GE Electives block
The second math course is moved to GE Electives block
Previous changed made to BSE programs regarding courses and hours are updated.
One course in English Literature is required in the Languages and Literature block.
Three hours of free electives

Total credit hours required: 126
