The department of Philosophy and Liberal Studies requests the following curricular actions:

Action:Course Change Request: PHL 316 Environmental Ethics

Purpose and nature of change: Drop prerequisites PHL 201 or PHL 202 for PHL 316, Environmental Ethics, and include it in PHL 316 Group 1, Humanities.

Course Description for Catalog (limit to four sentences): An analysis of philosophical and ethical arguments involving environmental issues. Topics include the nature of rights, models of normative decision-making, and case studies.

Request that Course be considered for General Education Credit.
Provide Support for this request. Inclusion in Group 1 would enable students in programs with limited scheduling flexibility, such as Fisheries, to take the course.
