Program Change Proposal – Women’s Studies

Rationale for change:

Women's Studies is revising its program to reflect course changes, deleting courses from the program that are no longer offered, adding courses that have been recently created, and clarifying the language of the electives category to avoid confusion.

List all changes:

Under Humanities choices:

Delete: ENG 2220 (it is now moved to electives)
Delete ENG 4401 (it is now moved to electives)
Delete HST 2201 American History through the Civil War
Add ENG 3326 Women's Literature
Add ENG 3328 Lesbian and Gay Literature
Add HST 2210 American Women's History
Add HST 3313 European Women's History
Add HST 3325 History of Witches

Under Social Science choices:

Add COM 3334 Gender and Communication

Under electives choices:

Delete: "6 credit hours of women’s studies electives selected through consultation with the Women’s Studies advisor."

Add: Choose two electives (6 s.h.) from the courses listed below, any of the
courses listed above, and/or courses cross-listed with Women’s Studies. 6
