This is a bulletin from the Academic Affairs Committee concerning proposed curricular actions. Please forward any comments or concerns in the next 10 days to the AAC chair, Jeffrey Bossworth , 206 Pinecrest Manor, ext. 4762.


Rationale for change:  1. To align required special education courses with course numbers and name changes made in the special education teacher education program.  2. Reduce special education core courses from 36 credits to 33 credits.  3.  Change human resource cognate courses from 15 to 18 credits.

Course Description for Catalog (limit to four sentences):

               This is a site-based pre-student teaching field experience in a diverse ethnic, language or SES community.  Students will participate daily in public school classrooms in their field of study.  bAsed on the site location, students will participate in community projects, interact in learning forums with other pre-service teachers and visit historical and cultural sites and museums. Prerequisites: ED 1110 or SPE 1001.

Prerequisites: (Courses which MUST be completed prior to taking this course) _ED 1110 Foundations of Education or  SPE 1001_Foundations in Special Education______
