SPA 1101: Study Guide for the Final Exam


  1. Have you been studying all of your vocabulary (classroom objects, class subjects, general vocabulary 58-9, colors, personality adjectives (68, 83), family, clothing, and house and furniture)?
  2. Can you tell time and distinguish when to use “son las” as opposed to “a las”?
  3. How well can you solve math problems and spell out numbers (1-thru-2999)?
  4. What are all the question words in Spanish?
  5. Do you remember all of the "tener" idiomatic expressioins, including the two from the book (p. 127)? How do you express age in Spanish?
  6. What are the two ways of showing possession in Spanish? How many possessive adjectives are they? Which ones have to agree both in number and in gender?
  7. Did you remember to study your verbs as vocabulary words and also drill their conjugations? How many –AR, -ER, and -IR verbs should you know? How many stem changing verbs are there (p. 114)? How many GO verbs do we know (137)?
  8. Are you able to use the demonstrative adjectives?
  9. How many "es + adjective + verb..." expressions can you create?
  10. Do we conjugate both of the verbs in a compound verb structure? When and how do we use the "ir +a" construction?
  11. Do you remember how to use and spell each of these categories (nación, persona, lugar, casa, concepto, animal, comida, deporte, instrumento)?
  12. Do you know the difference between a definite and an indefinite article? Can you create plural definite and indefinite articles?
